Sheila White

Girls Education & Mentoring Service (GEMS)

Sheila White, 23 is a native of Bronx, New York. Sheila is a survivor of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSEC) as a teen and is now employed at GEMS as a Youth Outreach Worker. As an outreach worker she uses her voice to fight against CSEC by speaking at detention facilities, group homes, residential facilities, schools, and events to educate and spread awareness to at-risk girls and the community at large. Her work also includes changing public perceptions and policies related to CSEC on local, national and international platforms such as The United Nations. Sheila is a mother of three as well an accomplished artist and writer currently attending Bronx Community in pursuit of a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.
