Pablo Villeda
International Justice Mission
Pablo Villeda serves as Director of Operations, Latin America for
International Justice Mission. IJM is a human rights agency that secures
justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of
violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare
professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to
prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors
that promote functioning public justice systems.
Pablo received a J.D. from Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala.
Prior to working with IJM, Pablo worked alongside his father as an
attorney with a focus on family law and contract dispute.
Pablo joined International Justice Mission in January 2007, serving for
three years as the Field Office Director in Guatemala. In this
position, Pablo worked with Guatemalan authorities and referral partners
to investigate and prosecute cases of sexual violence. As field office
director, Pablo led his team in achieving significant convictions
against perpetrators of sexual violence, as well as led structural
transformation efforts, including hosting critical trainings for
government forensic doctors and public prosecutors.
Pablo became the Director of Operations for Latin America in late 2009.
In this position he has responsibility for the leadership of all of
IJM’s Latin America field offices and casework alliance partners. He is
also a professor at the Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala.
