In places such as India, as many as 60 million children are victims of forced or bonded labor, working in slave-like conditions, in factories and compounds throughout the country.

In Not My Life, we see children working in cramped, tight conditions making bindi. Many of these children work 7+ hour days to earn just a few rupees for themselves and their families.

Organizations such as Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) are making a difference in these children’s lives. Since its founding in 1980, BBA has rescued 83,165 children from slavery. To ensure the protection and restitution of these children, BBA also provides immediate after-care, education services and legal aid for the prosecution of the children's employers.

Workshops and factories, in many ways, are the dark halls of slavery.
